Locrinese Annunziato Gentiluomo

The Life Beyond Life Film Festival was begun in 2021 by the Popular University under the leadership of Locrinese Annunziato Gentiluomo (Calabria/Italy) and the Cultural Association SystemOut.

The event is sponsored by the Popular University ArtInMovimento (https://www.unipopaim.it/), the Cultural Association SystemOut (http://www.systemout.org/), the Religion Today Film Festival, and AREI. The mission of the international event is to dispell the taboo around speaking about and studying the end of life transition called “death.” The death of the body creates fear, terror, and anxiety. The films inspired by the Life Beyond Life Film Festival will affect the large numbers of people who watch the films and are moved by them.

This third proceeding in 2023 will welcome hundreds of products: clips/shorts, medium and feature films, documentaries/fact films, video arts, and even cartoons, on the themes of Terminal Care, Grief, Transition, the Visions of the Afterlife, Eternity, Immortality and Destiny, Coincidences, the Divine, Angels and Demons, Karma and Darma, Samsãra, the Akashi Records, Entanglement, the Multiverse (parallel dimensions) and Quantum Physics and Universal Energy. The festival also encourages testimonials and narratives about discoveries made during activities by mediums, psychics and holistic operators, and cinematographic products that have a significant social and spiritual value because of the messages’ links to Death will be Hope, Solidarity and Light.

A Kickstarter campaign has been instituted to fund the festival. The goal is $4,339. We encourage anyone interested in supporting this worthwhile endeavor to contribute.

The films, selected for consideration during the LBLFF will be evaluated by four technical juries chaired by Alberto Olivero, voice actor and spiritual researcher (Feature Film Jury), Johan Nepomuk Maier, spiritual researcher, lecturer and video- maker (Documentary Jury), R. Craig Hogan PhD, author and President of the AREI (Short Films Jury), and by Jürgen Ziewe and Mario Guerra, photographer and artist (Doc Shorts Jury). Alongside the four technical
juries, there will be two other ones, proposing three prizes in all. The first is a Jury of young American students, from the USAC Torino program and the second, named Jury Under Eleven, is made up of children, being not older than eleven years.

A team selects the movie for inclusion: Andrea Morghen, Matteo Valier, Lucio Toma, Evelyn Meuren, Roberto Valente, Fabrizio Salvati, Samuele Maritan, Alessandro de Maio, Antonello Scioppa, Donato Saracino, Stefano Semeria, and Locrinese Annunziato Gentiluomo. The team is very satisfied with the selection of the movies, and above all, convinced that many viewers will enjoy these products on a two-day live event at the famous Ambrosio Cinema Cafè at Torino and for several weeks On Demand. The pandemic period has shown us the potential of new technologies, and that is why, the organizers have
embarked on this double track path. Arts director and head manager of the festival, Annunziato Gentiluomo remarked, “We want the public, through the Seventh Art, to have aroused stimuli and reflection, contributing to redefining the concept of Death.”

This year’s programming (2022) does proceed with sublime movies! To my mind, the most stimulating section is that of the SHORTS, where many authors, in a small period of time, managed it to offer superordinary insights into Life and its contents, naturally leading to reflecting. Crossing the threshold of two hundred and fifty films, coming from all over the World, was a truly significant recognition for our mission, our project, and above all for the courage of having proposed a self-produced festival, treating such exceptional topics.

Hundreds of Films arrive from all continents, and nearly 65% of those selected are European products, especially Italian, Dutch, French and English. We’re hoping wholeheartedly that Torino, having been always feeling close to the cinema, will approve that innovative proposal sui generis, being one of a kind on international level,“ affirming the arts director and head manager Annunziato Gentiluomo.

LBLFF takes her initiative for something very interesting, maybe unique worldwide and innovative, especially for Italy where, in contradistinction to the United States and South America, certain issues, nurturing our mind to endure a psychic and spiritual awakening, and encouraging us to face life with more strength and awareness are still treated with great reserve, particularly by producers.

This year (2022) five feature films, six documentaries, thirteen short films and ten doc shorts will be excitedly engaged in competition during the Second Edition of the Life Beyond Life Film Festival (https://www.lifebeyondlife.net/), proposed by the popular university ArtInMovimento (https://www.unipopaim.it/), in concert with the cultural association SystemOut (https://www.systemout.org/), while acting in accordance with the Religion Today Film Festival (Trento/Italy) and AREI, the Afterlife Research and Education Institute (IL/U.S).

The only Film Festival in the World that, lined to the International Afterlife Conferences Andare Oltre. Uniti nella Luce and Oltre l’Oltre, zeros in, on eschatological themes close by Life beyond Life. So it has welcomed film products, coming from all over the world, dealing with the event of Death, the concept of Destiny and the experiences of Mediums, Channelers and Spiritual researchers. More than two hundred and fifty films, submitted on the Filmfreeway platform, have been analyzed and evaluated in two sequential phases, by a consultative panel, made up of six professional members. From this meticulous work a special “lineup” has emerged, which this year will foresee less than 14% of arrivals.

In addition to the 25.8% of submission increase, this Second Edition features four sections, having just as many international juries. Furthermore, the viewing proposal will be mixed like the following: A selection of various movies will be aired LIVE and in free admission, on April 10/11 at the Ambrosio Cinecafè /Torino City, while the entire line up will be open to the public, for over two weeks, On Demand, on a dedicated Vimeo channel.

“Thinking back at January 2021, when Annunziato Gentiluomo proposed me to found Life Beyond Life, today it seems to me, as if would have passed an eternity, so much this reality has changed, enable to birth transformation, bringing people together, having the same need, the same interest, but showing it up in completely different modes, one as the maker, the other as the viewer. There are so many new quality products, containing that great desire to induce reflections and respond to the existential questions, that have always accompanied humankind. Indeed, we ourselves do feel the need to expand, to grow, to evolve, because the team, having been formed spontaneously around the festival, is really working out!”, explained Andrea Morghen, Director of Programming of the Life Beyond Life Film Festival.

“We are growing and it is our aim to carry on, as one always carries on! Challenging personalistic logics and nurturing that wonderful team spirit of our work group, which each member has the same decision-making power in, as well as the others. We are keeping a fully democratic and participatory management in business which, on the one hand, can slow down the work a little, on the other it allows everyone to feel part of the project, resulting rewardingly in long-term.

We are cherishing a belief in this project. We are buying into the social relevance of this festival, in its power and cognitive skill to disseminate issues of the paranormal!

Nine friends—Andrea Morghen, Matteo Valier, Lucio Toma, Evelyn Meuren, Roberto Valente, Fabrizio Salvati, Samuele Maritan, Stefano Semeria and my Annunziato Gentiluomo—who, based on a simple intuition of mine, started last year to realize this extraordinary, innovated project, and are continuing even this year, being convinced and having faith that “cinema” would be a perfect channel to talk about issues related to the Afterlife, due to its immersive capacity and the strong radiance of “images in motion”. Additionally to remark that important tradition, linking the Seventh Art to the Higher Realms of Life beyond Life!

On a related note let us state the famous movies Nosso Lar, The Sixth Sense, The Others, Beyond Dreams, Hereafter, Ghost, The Corpse Bride, Charlie – Even dogs go to Heaven, Coco and Soul and many others. We are collecting lots of unpublished works, giving them a chance to be screened through festival events like ours. So join us, mark the stated time, do not miss it, but simply enjoy!” encouraging Annunziato Gentiluomo, Ideator, Co-founder and Artistic Director of that International Afterlife Film Festival.

About Torino/Italy

Torino – Piedmont/Italy – Torino, the capital of the Piedmont Region, is located in Northern Italy, a city having made history. According to the research, published on the website ArXiv and conducted by the astronomer Mariateresa Crosta (National Institute of Astrophysics) at Torino together with the archeologist Sandro Caranzano, Director of the Torino Herakles Center, it would seem that the burg emerged on January 30, IX BC, under the name of Iulia Augusta Taurinorum. Torino, beyond doubt, is a metropolis having its particular charm: there were reigns and its history was printed by emperors, kings, scholars, architects, politicians, writers, statesmen, and singular characters who left indelible marks. Torino is even a city with great esoteric and alchemic traditions. It is confirmed today as a magical city: it is one of the leaders, of the “white triangle” together with Prague and Lyon and one of the points of the “black triangle” with London and San Francisco. After careful observation, there are loopholes between the sobriety and the typical luxury of the nineteenth-century city, combined with a spotlight of youth vitality and color, an expression of a movement concentrated, in particular, around the wineries, pubs, bars, and the famous aperitif, a nice tradition of which it has the paternity.

Because of its esoteric and cinematographic tradition and being a careful city of culture as well as art, we would like consider Torino as ideal location for the “Life Beyond Life Film Festival”. 3) Video of Robert William Lyon/ winning with the movie RINALDI at the LBLFF 2022 https://youtu.be/mkyIcZhQelY
